The Institute of Political Science (ICP) at UC Chile invites applications for a full-time tenured position in Comparative Politics, at the rank of Associate Professor. Candidates in all areas of research within the subfield are welcome to apply.
UC Chile is consistently ranked among the top universities in Latin America. The ICP has a highly international and research-active faculty and is a leading center for theoretical, empirical, and applied research in the region. It offers undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. programs and regularly hosts exchange students and visiting professors from around the world.
Teaching obligations are limited to three courses per year. Fluency in Spanish is expected, but any candidate who expresses a willingness to perfect basic proficiency is encouraged to apply. The ICP offers financial support for language classes and courses may initially be taught in English.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Political Science or an equivalent degree. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality research, publication, and teaching.
The selected candidate should be available to begin the position on July 1, 2027.

Additional information
A foreign national who is selected for this position while residing outside Chile will be required to obtain the relevant visa from the Chilean consulate in their country of residence before taking up the appointment. The University and the ICP will provide support throughout the visa application process.
