The School of Psychology at UC Chile invites applications for a full-time tenure track academic position in the category of Assistant or Associate Professor (Planta Ordinaria), with a focus on Adult or Child Clinical Neuropsychology.

About the UC School of Psychology

Since its creation in 1957, UC Chile School of Psychology has trained more than 5,000 professionals and has established itself as one of the leading academic units in research, teaching and public engagement in the field of psychology in Chile and Latin America.

The School has an academic staff of more than 50 professors, approximately 900 undergraduate students and 120 graduate students. It offers Bachelor’s degree programs in Psychology, three Doctorates (Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Neurosciences) and four Master’s degrees (Clinical, Educational, Health, and Strategic People Management & Organizational Behavior).

Its work is articulated with multiple interdisciplinary research centers, promoting rigorous scientific training and an active commitment to human and social development.

Position Profile

We are seeking a faculty member with a Ph.D. to conduct research, teach, and engage with the community in the field of clinical neuropsychology. The academicmust have knowledge and experience in developing psychological assessment instruments or tools and/or neuropsychological assessments, as well as in conducting validation studies in the context of intervention or psychological development assessment.

Required and Desired Competencies

The hired faculty member must view clinical neuropsychology as part of the health field and have experience practicing neuropsychology within the Chilean healthcare system (or, if applicable, a foreign system). We expect the academic to conduct research or have clinical experience in disability, inclusion, and health equity, with a particular focus on the clinical treatment of neurodiverse individuals. Particular emphasis will be placed on experience in academic administration and leadership of academic groups, as well as the ability to lead research projects in neuropsychology, develop empirically validated measurement tools, and collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with a high degree of methodological rigor, particularly in the study of psychological development trajectories or in the early identification and assessment of developmental disorders.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in quantitative methods, psychometrics, and applied research, such as:

  • Psychological Assessment I and II (PSI2400, PSI2405)
  • Clinical practice supervision (with a focus on neuropsychological assessment) (PSI2546)
  • Clinical neuropsychology courses (under- and graduate levels).

Approximately 50% of the workload will be dedicated to teaching, equivalent to four courses per year, or three courses plus other teaching activities (such as master’s and doctoral thesis supervision).

During the first year, the expectation is one course per semester.

Likewise, the selected candidate is expected to:

  • Develop lines of research with external funding.
  • Supervise Master’s and/or Doctorate theses.
  • Actively participate in the academic life of the School and in methodological and curricular initiatives.

Candidates are expected to be fluent in Spanish and English.

Prior teaching experience, initiative, leadership, the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, international networks, and prior collaborative work will be considered. All these factors will be evaluated considering the candidate’s current stage in their academic career.

The candidate is expected to be available to start in the second semester of 2026

  • A person of foreign nationality without permanent residence in the country or who is applying from abroad, in case of being selected for the position, will then need to process, in their country of origin, their visa to join the academic staff of the University.
