The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at UC Chile announces a national and international call for applications to fill the position of Full-Time Professor in the Regular Academic Track, at Associate or Assistant Professor category. The selected candidate will engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and community outreach in the field of Analytical Chemistry.
Overview
The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy is seeking exceptional and highly motivated individuals for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor. The chosen candidate will join the School of Chemistry, Department of Organic Chemistry, a diverse and interdisciplinary team dedicated to promoting and cultivating chemical sciences while striving for academic excellence and rigor in all aspects.

Qualifications
Teaching. The selected individual will teach at least two undergraduate courses in Analytical Chemistry and/or General Chemistry (101) at the Inorganic Chemistry department (School of Chemistry). Additionally, it is expected her/his participation in at least one graduate course and/or the development of novel elective course related to their specific expertise. All courses must be taught in Spanish. Additionally, the selected applicant must be active in the formation of human capital through the supervision of undergraduate and graduate theses.
Research. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving and strengthening research lines in Analytical Chemistry, with an emphasis (not mandatory) on the preparation of complex samples and the development of analytical methodologies for solving problems in the areas of environment, energy, food, among others. The applicant must formulate, and lead research projects funded by external sources, publish research findings in indexed mainstream journals (WoS), and establish national and international collaborative networks. Furthermore, she/he should foster community engagement and support the transfer of technology developed during their research in alignment with the standards established by UC Chile.
Required documents
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Chemistry or a related field at the time of appointment. Candidates should have experience in Analytical Chemistry. This experience should be demonstrable through scientific publications, externally funded research projects, and national and international networks. Teaching experience in the specified area and fluency in Spanish and English are desirable. The candidate should demonstrate proactivity, leadership, and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
