Since its creation in 1957, the Department of Psychology of UC Chile has trained more than 5,000 professionals. Currently, the Department is made up of 40 tenure track professors, 9 from a special teaching track, 12 adjunct professors, and approximately 900 undergraduate and 120 graduate students.

At the graduate level, it offers three doctoral programs (psychology, psychotherapy, and neuroscience) and four master’s programs (clinical, educational, health, strategic people management and organizational behavior).

The Special Education Pedagogy Program was established in 2023 as an interfaculty initiative, involving both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Social Sciences, through the Department of Psychology. ¹Depending on the background of the person selected, categorization as an assistant or associate lecturer will be determined.
²The Department of Psychology at UC Chile has announced three competition opportunities: one for a tenure-track full-time position (focused on measurement in educational or developmental psychology), another for a tenure-track full-time position (focused on Developmental Psychology, Special and Inclusive Education) and the current competition. All these positions are related to academic activities within the Department of Psychology and the Special Education Pedagogy Program. Interested candidates who meet the requirements may apply to more than one of these competitions simultaneously by submitting separate applications for each.
