We invite applicants for a full-time position as either Assistant or Associate Professor to contribute to our mission to pursue educational justice. The Faculty of Education is one of the leading research institutions in Latin America, with solid undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful applicants will join the UC Chile academic community with a focus on research, teaching, academic service, and outreach through public engagement or social impact activities. The teaching role will involve contributing to the undergraduate teacher education programs and postgraduate programs.
The priority areas identified for these positions are:
1) Teaching and learning in physical education.
2) Teaching and learning in English as a foreign language.
What will we offer?
- Two full-time academic appointments in the Faculty of Education at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on the qualifications and experience of each selected candidate. The positions will be housed in the Faculty of Education.

Qualifications
1) Teaching and learning in physical education.

- PhD degree in teaching and learning in physical education, didactics of physical education, sports or psychomotricity, or education.
- Research experience in teaching and learning in physical education.
- Experience in undergraduate teacher preparation programs.
It is desirable that the candidate has experience teaching and learning physical education for primary and secondary education.
2) Teaching and learning in English as a foreign language.

- PhD degree in teaching and learning in English as a foreign or additional language, education, TESOL, TEFL or applied linguistics.
- Advanced level of English (equivalent to C1 level from CEFR).
- Research experience in at least one of the following topics: Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), English culture and language, children’s literature in English, classroom research, interculturality.
- Experience in undergraduate teacher preparation programs.
It is desirable that the candidate has experience teaching and learning English as a foreign language for primary and secondary education.

A) Cover letter: highlighting publications, funded projects, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, participation and organization of conferences, experience in academic service, and outreach activities (max. 2,000 words).
B) Research, teaching, and outreach plan: describing current and proposed research in the specific field of the appointment, teaching in initial teacher education and outreach that specifies activities of public engagement or social impact (max. 1,500 words).
C) Curriculum Vitae organized in the following sections:
i)Personal information: name, phone number, email, and website (if applicable)
ii) Education: list of academic degrees indicating the institutions of obtaining and relevant dates (Certificates of degrees and degrees must be attached)
iii) Academic experience:
a. Full list of publications (WoS, SCOPUS, and others), book chapters, and books. Highlight the most relevant ones and their impact in the area of the appointment.
b. Participation in research projects, detailing their level of involvement (Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator), dates and institution.
iv) Teaching experience: indicating the institution, courses, levels (under-degree, postgraduate), and participation (main teacher, co-teacher, etc.)
v) Outreach: indicating experience in applied projects involving agents outside academia and public or social impact activities.
vi) Other: language certification and other information considered relevant for the application.
