We are seeking to hire a full-time position as either an Assistant or Associate Professor to contribute to our commitment to the future of education and educational justice. The position will focus on teaching, research, and public impact.

The Faculty of Education is one of the leading research institutions in Latin America, with solid undergraduate and graduate programs. The institution is inspired by academic excellence and invites the development of a research program that is robust, ethically guided, productive, and relevant to the country’s priorities.

The successful applicant will join the UC Chile academic community with a focus on research, teaching, academic service, and outreach through public engagement or social impact activities. The teaching role will involve contributing to the undergraduate teacher education and postgraduate programs.

The priority area identified for this position is:

The applicants should demonstrate:

• The ability to work autonomously to develop and communicate high-level research and academic publications in the area.
• Advanced level of English and Spanish.
• A commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, student supervision and support.
• A commitment to developing academic projects involving other actors inside and outside academia.
• The capacity and commitment to work collaboratively in the Faculty of Education and with the disciplinary faculty that co-govern the Inter-faculty pedagogy programs at UC Chile, particularly with the program associated with this appointment.
• Familiarity with the principles and mission of UC Chile.

The specific requirements for the positions are:

• PhD degree in Education, Educational Psychology, or Social Sciences. An undergraduate degree in Special Education is desirable (but not mandatory).
• Verifiable advanced level of English.
• Research experience in at least one of the following topics: Inclusive Education, Initial Teacher Preparation in Special Education, Inclusion and Classroom Interaction.
• Experience in undergraduate teacher preparation programs.

• One full-time academic appointment in the Faculty of Education at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on the qualifications and experience of each selected candidate. The positions will be housed in the Faculty of Education.
• Permanent contract.

A) Cover letter: highlighting publications, funded projects, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, participation and organization of conferences, experience in academic service, and outreach activities (max. 2,000 words).

B) Research, teaching, and outreach plan: describing current and proposed research in the specific field of the appointment, teaching in initial teacher education, and outreach that specifies activities of public engagement or social impact (max. 1,500 words).

C) Curriculum Vitae organized in the following sections:

i) Personal information: name, phone number, email, and website (if applicable)

ii) Education: list of academic degrees indicating the institutions of obtaining and relevant dates (Certificates of degrees and degrees must be attached)

iii) Academic experience:

a. Full list of publications (WoS, SCOPUS, and others), book chapters, and books. Highlight the most relevant ones and their impact in the area of the appointment.

b. Participation in research projects, detailing their level of involvement (Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator), dates and institution.

iv) Teaching experience: indicating the institution, courses, levels (under-degree, postgraduate), and participation (main teacher, co-teacher, etc.)

v) Outreach: indicating experience in applied projects involving agents outside academia and public or social impact activities.

vi) Other: Language certification and any other information considered relevant to the application.

The selection process will guarantee transparency and equal opportunities and includes these stages:

3. Public presentation of the research, teaching, and outreach plan: week of January 26^th, 2026

6. Contract institutional validation in collegiate bodies of the Faculty and University: April-May 2026
7. Expected entry: May-June 2026

This call is open to national and international applicants. If the selected candidate holds a non-Chilean citizen or does not have permanent residence in Chile, they must obtain the appropriate VISA in their country of origin to join UC Chile academic staff.
