The Economics Department (Instituto de Economía) at UC Chile invites applications for multiple full-time faculty positions at the levels of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates from all fields of economics are welcome. According to the QS and Shanghai Rankings, the Department consistently ranks first in Latin America. It serves around 2,000 students across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, including two M.Sc. degrees and a Ph.D. in Economics.
What We Offer
- Teaching load: 3 courses per year. Teaching may be done in English or Spanish during the first two years; thereafter, proficiency in Spanish for teaching is expected.

Candidate Profile
- Ph.D. in Economics (or equivalent, completed by the start date).
- Strong potential for high-quality research and publication record (required for Associate/Full Professor applicants).
- Commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including student supervision.
- Capacity for collaboration and academic citizenship, contributing to departmental and university initiatives.
